Do a search for ‘Studio Ghibli’ or ‘Hayao Miyazaki’ on YouTube and you’ll be inundated with a thousand videos that folks have made, praising the studio’s movies and delving into every aspect you can imagine, and all for good reason - Miyazaki’s films are dreams, and some of the greatest fantasies that cinema has ever produced. Before making this video, I’d long wanted to talk about his films in some way, but it wasn’t until I had the idea of doing a video specifically centered on the numerous aircraft featured across his films, that I finally sat down to try and do a master craftsmen a bit of justice.
